Sign of the times

A sign by bins of apples invites us to "fill the bag" for $10 (approximately $1.50 per pound)
The sun sets on the last farmers market of the year in Davis Square, Somerville, where deals can be had.

The last market of the year closed cold but bright on the day before Thanksgiving.

Have a good winter!

Today marks the end of the regular markets. Many had their last days in October.

There are two apple growers who stick it out in Davis Square until the end. They are Kimball Fruit Farm, at top, and Nicewicz Family Farm, above.

See you next year!

  1. Nice! I got some apples from our orchardist who could not attend the market (where I sell baked goods) and sold a few at our last market of the year on Tuesday. It was COLD. I still have plenty of apples! Ida Reds, Cameos and utility apples for baking...
