November Sun

Apple trees bare of leaves in the sun
The apple trees bask in the low light at Hutchins Farm earlier today.

This week has been an apple hunt for me. I've picked up some Melrouge, Winesap, Blushing Golden, and Arkansas Black.

Also many russets and a few surprises that I hope to share here, as the sun gets low and the year gets old.

The photos are from a bike ride today. Click to embiggen.

See the trees are stripped of leaves, their center is laid bare
As fire into ashes burns, so passion must dissipate

    1. Hi Russ! I live in eastern Massachusetts, and these sources are more or less local to me. They include Bolton Springs Orchard and Bolton Orchard in Bolton, and Dick's Market in Lunenburg. Many other varieites are still available at these locations today.

I have reviewed other farmstand locations on the markets and orchard pages.
