Promise

Rows of blooming apple trees recede into the distance

A cool spring has left the trees wearing their party finery as late as today. (Carlson Orchard, Harvard Massachusetts)

If the bees found the trees, we may be in luck.

Below, blossoms on a tree at Old Frog Pond Farm, also in Harvard, one of two local organic orchards that bore no fruit last year.

Branches, and pink blossoms, against the sky.

  1. If the bees don't find trees then we all seize. And if indeed we cease I believe we will cease, similar 2 old frog farm's trees that cease bearing their fruit. All that is has been before and I venture to say will be again someday.

  2. Wow! That's scary. Do they bring in bees, or just depend on chance?
