Scenes from a Pandemic Harvest

masked shoppers under a canopy with bags of apples and bins of orange pumpkins
Shopping and queuing at Shelburne Farm's outdoor market yesterday. The store at this orchard is normally indoors.

Some u-picks are by appointment this fall, and others have redesigned their corn mazes to permit social distancing, according to the New York Times.

I have not seen anything like that around here, but the scene at Shelburne Farm, a family-friendly orchard in Stowe, Massachusetts, managed to be both orderly and chaotic yesterday.

The angle of the above photo hides crowds and a very long line.
