I have come to count on the excellent Lady Alice apple in late March and into April.
There's been no sign of her this year.
Alice comes into her own in storage. There have been some complaints, but handled right her great crunch and malty notes make Alice a top pick for spring.
If you can get her.
Remember Alice? This is a song about Alice.

Just bought a half dozen here in Michigan. Like the flavor, but I find the skin on the tough side.
ReplyDeleteThat's surprising - I've been on a steady diet of Lady Alices (ate 2 today) since early March, Trader Joe's sells them 6 in a bag.

I figured they must be going somewhere!
DeleteI was just wondering about this! I keep checking my local store for Lady Alice -- they were excellent last year -- but not finding any. I did not see them at Trader Joe's, either.
ReplyDeleteOMG I love the milk cartoon idea - did you do that Adam?
ReplyDelete'Twas I.
