Buds of spring
As a particularly leonine March prepares to make its traditionally agnine exit, the apple trees are laying their plans to blossom and fruit.
Before there are apples, there are buds.
Compared to the
start of the month
, the buds on this branch tip are redder, more defined, and farther along.
I don't know if these particular tips are preparing to blossom, to leaf, or just to add growth. I suspect the latter.
