So fade the blooms of spring

A single white apple blossom on a branch against the sky. Some of the leaves have gray dirt on them.
Only a few apple blossoms remain on the trees at Hutchins Farm in Concord, Massachusetts, yesterday. ¶

This photo bookends last week's image of an early blossom.

The 90-degree weather in the forecast here will surely wring out any that remain. ¶

By the way, if you look closely at the leaves and branch in the image, you may notice what I think is kaolin clay, an organic pest-control measure.

Lift a virtual glass of cider to the hope to the pollinators that—let's hope—have set the stage for a memorable harvest.
