Apple anniversary

Today marks the first day of the twelfth year of this blog, originally conceived as a one-year project.

A garland of apples on the branch

Sign me up for another, if only to counter last year's dismal showing (in the new-apple review department).

This link shows my early efforts, oldest first.

Cheers! And let me (and my readers) know what's ripe where you live.

  1. Just want to say thank you for the effort Adam. I visit this blog regularly, and appreciate your and others advice, history, and characteristics concerning the many choices of wonderful apples.

    1. @Red, thanks! By the way is your namesake apple ripe yet where you live?

    2. My little Chan had apples the first year I planted it, which I removed, but has not had any for the last two years. Tree is flourishing though, so look forward to good things. It's a standard rootstock tree, so the wait is to be expected.

  2. Happy anniversary and wishing you several more! How many apples have you reviewed here to date?

    1. Thanks for your good wishes!

According to an automated part of this blog (look in sidebar for 2nd tabbed widget, click on "Posts by Topic" tab, scroll down to "apple review"), I have tasted 287 apples to date.

That includes a handful of sports, most of which are essentially the same as their original varieties (chiefly Fuji and Braeburn).
