The day of the remains

Bins of apples set on tables outside a truck with a group of people in the background
The last day of Farmers market in Davis Square, Somerville, earlier today.

The day before American Thanksgiving marks the end of the urban farmers markets in these parts.

The suburban markets had their last hurrah on Halloween.

Different apples in different bins near a different truck, with some bundled-up shoppers.

It was by most accounts a good if not great harvest, but I have friends who (usually) grow apples but who got no fruit this year.

I did not eat enough Macouns.

There are some area winter markets that start in December.

A hand-lettered sign that reads, "Last day of market, thank you for a great year!"
