SPOT THE RINGER
|
I am delighted to have these four different apples from the Midwest Apple Improvement Association. Specifically, from David Doud in Indiana.
Three of these are modern MAIA apples. One of those has been trademarked, so presumably has progressed from development to production. But the fourth was created by a much older fruit-breeding program in 1899.
Can you spot it? Bonus points for picking out the MAIA apple that is patented, trademarked, and in production.
If you have a large screen, click on the photo for a closer look.
David is a MAIA founder and board member. He grows apples on his Countyline Farm, about 60 miles north of Indianapolis.
As for the apples, stay tuned!
