Purple haze

Update: These are peach trees.

This looks prettier than it is. The Boston Globe explains that these peach buds are damaged by the cold snap we had earlier this month and will not bloom.

Carlson and many other orchards are looking at a 100% loss of their peach crop.

It's going to be in the 60s on February 16 and the 50s the day after that, according to the weather forecast. 

If this warm February weather wakes the apple trees up too soon, they will be vulnerable to cold weather too.
