Now bare, they barely bore

Yesterday at Hutchins Farm. The trees were unproductive this year.

The apple harvest around here has been uneven, and one place that suffered is Hutchins Farm in Concord, Massachusetts.

Despite that, I did manage to score 3 of the farm's lyrically named Sister of Fortune variety.

Lets hope that after resting this year the trees will be nice and frisky in 2015!

  1. Went picking with my kids last weekend at Red Apple Farm in Phillipston; they had almost no apples, which has never happened before. On the other hand I went yesterday to pick up about 500kg of culls and seconds for cider from Autumn Hills in Groton, and they had a fantastic year; still tons of fruit on the trees in fact.

    1. Seems to be a hit or miss year around here.

I visited Autumn Hills for the first time earlier this month. Really nice place.
