The apple trees bask in the low light at Hutchins Farm earlier today. |
This week has been an apple hunt for me. I've picked up some Melrouge, Winesap, Blushing Golden, and Arkansas Black.
Also many russets and a few surprises that I hope to share here, as the sun gets low and the year gets old.
The photos are from a bike ride today. Click to embiggen.

ReplyDeleteHi Russ! I live in eastern Massachusetts, and these sources are more or less local to me. They include Bolton Springs Orchard and Bolton Orchard in Bolton, and Dick's Market in Lunenburg. Many other varieites are still available at these locations today.
DeleteI have reviewed other farmstand locations on the markets and orchard pages.
Bring on the winesap debate :) ...May we please have a photo of your winesaps?
ReplyDeletePhotos in my Winesap review, and other posts with the Winesap label.
