Adam's Apples

The last day of Farmers market in Davis Square, Somerville, earlier today. The day before American Thanksgiving marks the end of the urban farmers markets in these parts. The suburban markets had their last hurrah on Halloween.

They are Suncrisp, Baldwin, and Topaz.

There were 17 kinds of apples today at  Volante Farms  in  Needham, Mass. It's a good place to get apples in what I think of as pirate season , when orchard-fresh apples grow scarce but can still be found.
