More apples to come

A reader writes:

On our island in Lake Mälaren, one hour west of Stockholm, Mantet has matured the most. "An attractive red-flushed early-season apple variety from Manitoba in Canada. The name is a combination of 'man' for Manitoba, and 'tet' from Tetofsky, one of the parent varieties."

The quote within the quote appears to be from Orange Pippin.

She also writes, "There is a Danish guy who on his site gives excellent information about grafting that you also might find interesting and useful."

The main site is in Danish, but the author thoughtfully provides an English version of the splice-grafting page.

Other dual-language pages include a catalog of apple varieties.

Mantet photo by kind permission.
